LABYRINTH

In November of 2009 I held a joint exhibition: “LABYRINTH” - with artists Martha Chaudhry, Donna Coughlin and Clare Gaylard. The exhibition opened November 12th 2009 at 2902 Gallery.

We were working together as ”The Artichoke Group” with the purpose of exhibiting art, creating events and support groups such as The Down Syndrome Association of Singapore.

ANOTHER PURPOSE

The group exhibition, LABYRINTH, showcased a collection of original multi-media artworks - glass, photography, acrylic and oil paintings. An important component of the exhibition was the artists’ support of the Down Syndrome Association of Singapore’s (DSA) art-based enrichment programme, which benefitted from the proceeds of the opening night auction, partial proceeds from sales of work, and a dedicated display space as part of the exhibition. Through this exhibition The Artichoke Group sought to generate awareness of the individual artists' work, as well as a socially conscious group to promote good works in the community through artistic endeavor.

COLLABORATE WORK

At the the official opening of exhibition, LABYRINTH, this collaborate work was auctioned off at a silent auction as well as a piece of artwork donated by each of the artists. 100% of the proceeds from this auction was donated to DSA.

FAMILY DAY

The exhibition encompassed several events aside from the opening. One of the highlights being a Family Day which was held on Sunday November 15th 2009 from 11 am – 3 pm. At this Event the involved artists showcased live demonstrations, and members of the community and their families could take part in art-based interactive activities.
